Your Privacy
This page explains how FlyGRAK Ghost Hub handles information provided by users of the site.
Who runs this site
FlyGRAK Ghost Hub is an unofficial community site run by FlyGRAK. To reach the site owner, you can contact me@flygrak.com.
What information is collected
When you upload a ghost file or interact with the site, the following information may be collected:
- Your chosen username.
- Your email address, used for upload verification and site moderation.
- The ghost file you upload, including information contained in that file such as package name, score and time where available.
- Any optional YouTube video link you choose to add to a ghost upload.
- The upload date and related leaderboard information.
- Report actions.
- A hashed version of your IP address and browser user agent for basic duplicate vote/report prevention.
- Standard server logs, which may include IP address, browser details, date/time and requested pages.
Why this information is used
The information is used to operate the site, display community ghost uploads, verify uploaders, prevent obvious spam or duplicate actions, respond to reports, and keep the site safe and useful.
Public information
Your username, uploaded ghost file, extracted score/time where available, upload date, download count, optional tactic flags, and any optional YouTube video link you add may be shown publicly. Your email address is not shown publicly.
Third-party links
If you add a YouTube video link, that link may be displayed publicly beside your ghost upload. Anyone who clicks the link will leave FlyGRAK and visit YouTube, which is operated by Google and may process data under its own privacy policy and terms.
Email verification
On a new browser, the site sends a temporary confirmation link before an upload appears publicly. The link confirms control of the email address and authorises that browser for future uploads for up to 90 days. Only hashed versions of the secret authentication tokens are stored in the database.
Reports and moderation
If someone reports a ghost upload, the report reason and relevant upload details may be emailed to the site owner for moderation. Reports are not displayed publicly.
Cookies
This site may use essential session cookies needed for basic site functions, such as showing confirmation messages after uploads, verification or reports. The site may also remember your username and email address so the upload form is pre-filled next time. After email confirmation, a secure HttpOnly authentication cookie is used to authorise that browser for future uploads for up to 90 days. These cookies are not used for advertising or tracking.
How long information is kept
Public ghost uploads may remain on the site until removed by the site owner or by request where appropriate. Email addresses are kept for as long as needed to protect usernames, verify uploads, handle moderation and prevent abuse. Server logs are kept according to the hosting provider’s normal retention periods.
Who information is shared with
Information is not sold. Data may be processed by the website hosting provider, email provider or other technical services needed to run the site. Information may also be disclosed if required by law or to deal with abuse, security issues or legal claims.
Your rights
You can contact me@flygrak.com to ask about your data, request correction, request deletion where appropriate, or object to processing.
Unofficial site
FlyGRAK Ghost Hub is an unofficial community site. It is not affiliated with Microsoft, Asobo, or the Microsoft Flight Simulator team.
